MUNICIPALITY OF LOBOC

Loboc is an interior town 24 kilometers from Tagbilaran and is located in a valley which is dissected by winding river of the same name. According to Filipino historian Fr. Horacio de la Costa, Loboc was founded by Fr. Juan de Torres who, after talking to the natives, succeeded in persuading them to bring their barangays to settle in the site they themselves had selected for a town. This was in the year 1602 which makes Loboc one of the oldest towns of this province.
