Jun 29, 2023

The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), led by Governor Aris Aumentado, held a meeting with members of the Bohol African Swine Fever (ASF) Task Force on June 29, 2023, at the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) Conference Room.

Preventive measures were discussed, which include updates on the swine industry situation, pork sufficiency, live hog and pork price monitoring, ASF surveillance, and the Bohol Action Plan to control ASF illegal entry.

As one of the two provinces in Region VII that is still ASF-free, Bohol’s task force also raised issues and concerns, especially from the members of Veterinary Quarantine Services (VQS) stationed on the whole island.

Vice Governor Dionisio Victor Balite was present during the meeting, which was presided over by the Provincial Veterinarian and Task Force Executive Officer, Ms. Stella Marie Lapiz. Various officials and members of the task force agencies also participated in the event.
