The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), led by Gov. Aris Aumentado, through the Bohol Employment and Placement Office–Public Employment Service Office (BEPO-PESO), received multiple recognitions during the PESOMAP Central Visayas Regional PESO Congress held on June 3–4, 2026, at Marilou Resort.

The event gathered Public Employment Service Office (PESO) managers, labor officials, and stakeholders from across Central Visayas to recognize outstanding achievements and best practices in employment services. It also served as a venue for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and strengthening of labor market initiatives across the region.

The awards recognized the exemplary leadership of Maria Vilma Yorong, PGDH of BEPO-PESO and Provincial PESO Manager/CTEC, along with the sustained excellence of the office in implementing employment programs and services for Boholanos.

Among the major distinctions conferred upon BEPO-PESO were Top PESO Employment Information System (PEIS) User, PESO with the Most Job Fairs Conducted, PESO with the Highest Number of Hired-on-the-Spot (HOTS) for Regular Job Fairs, PESO with the Highest Number of Placed Jobseekers in the Province of Bohol, and recognition as one of the implementors of the JobStart Philippines Program.

These recognitions underscore BEPO-PESO’s consistent performance in delivering accessible and efficient employment services, as well as its commitment to connecting jobseekers with meaningful job opportunities both locally and abroad.

The award for Top PEIS User highlights the office’s effective use of the Philippine Employment Information System in facilitating job matching and labor market information dissemination.

Meanwhile, the recognition for conducting the most job fairs reflects BEPO-PESO’s proactive efforts in bringing employers closer to jobseekers across municipalities in the province.

The distinction for the highest number of Hired-on-the-Spot (HOTS) applicants further demonstrates the effectiveness of the province’s job fair initiatives in providing immediate employment opportunities.

Likewise, the recognition for the highest number of placed jobseekers highlights the office’s success in sustaining employment outcomes beyond job fair events.

The acknowledgment as a JobStart Philippines Program implementor also reflects BEPO-PESO’s commitment to youth employability and skills development, particularly in preparing young jobseekers for the demands of the labor market through life skills training, technical training, and internship opportunities.

Under the leadership of Yorong, BEPO-PESO has consistently strengthened its employment facilitation initiatives through strong partnerships with national government agencies, local government units, private employers, and educational institutions.

These collaborations have enabled the expansion of employment opportunities and improved access to labor market information for Boholanos.

The awards also highlight the office’s continued innovation in employment services, including enhanced job matching systems, expanded job fair coverage, and strengthened coordination mechanisms that support efficient workforce deployment.

BEPO-PESO’s achievements reflect its sustained commitment to public service excellence, as it continues to implement programs that address unemployment, underemployment, and skills mismatch in the province.

Beyond employment facilitation, the office also plays a key role in promoting inclusive growth by ensuring that employment opportunities are accessible to various sectors, including fresh graduates, displaced workers, and vulnerable groups.

The recognition received at the regional congress serves as a testament to the province’s strong labor governance and its commitment to improving the quality of life of Boholanos through gainful employment and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Aligned with the Capitol’s Strategic Governance Roadmap, BEPO-PESO continues to advance the PGBh’s vision of a progressive, inclusive, and employment-driven economy anchored on responsive governance and people-centered development in the province, a UNESCO Global Geopark. (PIMO/MFM)
