Governor Erico Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado assured Boholanos that the proposed SM Bohol project will proceed as planned, citing confirmation from SM executive Hans Sy regarding the development’s implementation.
In a statement posted on June 5, 2026, on his Facebook account, Aumentado encouraged the public to remain confident about the project, emphasizing its potential contribution to employment generation, business growth, and economic development in the province.
“Magpabilin kita nga positibo ug suportahan ang mga proyekto nga makatabang sa pagpalambo sa atong lalawigan,” he wrote.
The governor said the project is expected to create numerous job opportunities and open new avenues for local enterprises while further strengthening Bohol’s growing economy.
Furthermore, the planned SM Bohol development is seen as a significant investment that could further enhance commercial activity and attract additional business opportunities in the province.
The governor’s assurance comes amid public interest in the status of the project, with provincial leaders continuing to pursue investments and infrastructure initiatives aimed at generating employment, stimulating economic activity, and improving the quality of life of Boholanos.
