The Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO), under the leadership of Provincial Director PCOL Patricio Degay Jr., continues to intensify the implementation of the Safer Cities Initiative to maintain peace, order, and public safety throughout the province.

Through sustained roving patrols and law enforcement operations conducted by BPPO field units from May 25 to 31, 2026, a total of 2,738 individuals were apprehended or issued citation tickets for violating various local ordinances.

Records show that the highest number of violations involved City and Municipal Traffic Ordinances, with 1,354 violators cited for offenses such as operating vehicles with noisy mufflers, failure to wear helmets, and other traffic-related infractions.

The operations also resulted in the rescue of 522 minors found violating curfew hours. The minors were safely turned over to their parents and the respective Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices (MSWDOs) for appropriate intervention.

Meanwhile, authorities recorded 408 individuals caught drinking in public places, 75 violators of smoking and vaping ordinances, 19 individuals roaming public streets without proper attire, and three violators of karaoke regulations for operating beyond permitted hours. An additional 357 individuals were apprehended for violating other local ordinances.

BPPO emphasized that Oplan Bulabog is not intended to intimidate the public but rather to promote discipline, ensure public safety, and protect communities.

The BPPO also reminded the public to observe local laws and ordinances and to cooperate with authorities in maintaining a secure and disciplined community.

The BPPO and the Provincial Government of Bohol, under the leadership of Governor Aris Aumentado, continue their efforts to create a safer, more orderly, and peaceful environment for all Boholanos. (PIMO/RJG)
