2,886 ORDINANCE VIOLATIONS ADDRESSED; BPPO, PGBH STRENGTHEN SAFER CITIES DRIVE
Jun 3, 2026

The Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO), under the leadership of Provincial Director Patricio C. Degay Jr., continues to intensify its “Safer Cities Initiative” to uphold peace, order, and public safety across the province.

For the period of April 27 to May 3, 2026, BPPO personnel recorded a total of 2,886 actions against local ordinance violations—reflecting the office’s firm commitment to law enforcement and the promotion of discipline among citizens.

A significant portion of the operations focused on road safety and compliance with traffic regulations, resulting in 1,188 violations under city and municipal traffic ordinances.

In line with youth protection efforts, 796 minors were rescued for curfew violations, underscoring the province’s continued efforts to safeguard children from potential risks during late-night hours.

Enforcement of public order and health ordinances also yielded notable results, with 358 individuals apprehended for drinking in public places and 84 for smoking in prohibited areas.

Meanwhile, community standards were reinforced through the apprehension of individuals for minor but regulated acts, including roaming without proper attire and violations of permitted hours for karaoke use. An additional 451 cases of other local ordinance violations were likewise processed.

According to PCOL Degay, the initiative goes beyond enforcement and is anchored on public welfare, “Our goal is simple: to make every city and municipality in Bohol a safer place to live, work, and do business. The ‘Safer Cities Initiative’ is not just about enforcement; it is about protecting the well-being of every Bol-anon through strict adherence to our local laws.”

The BPPO remains steadfast in its mandate to serve and protect, urging the public to continue cooperating with authorities in fostering a more peaceful and orderly Bohol, a UNESCO Global Geopark.

Through continued partnership with the Provincial Government of Bohol under the leadership of Governor Aris Aumentado, law enforcement agencies continue to work hand in hand in advancing safe, orderly, and resilient communities, a priority aligned with the Strategic Governance Roadmap. (PIMO/RJG)
