The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive governance and lasting peace as Governor Aris Aumentado administered the oath of office to the newly elected officers of the Bohol Muslim Community Peace Movement Inc. on June 1, 2026, at the Governor’s Office.

The oath-taking ceremony formally installed the organization’s officers who will serve the Boholano Muslim community from 2026 to 2029.

The event also underscored the strong partnership between the provincial government and the Muslim community in advancing peace, unity, and social development across the province.

Home to nearly 5,000 Muslims, Bohol continues to recognize the important role of the Muslim community in promoting harmony and fostering mutual understanding among diverse sectors of society.

Over the years, this partnership has been strengthened through programs and initiatives that support the welfare and cultural identity of Muslim residents.

During the gathering, community leaders expressed their appreciation to the PGBh and Governor Aumentado for initiatives that address the needs of the Muslim community, including the establishment of the Muslim Cemetery in Subayon, Bilar, and the creation of a dedicated office at the Governor’s Mansion.

These initiatives reflect the provincial government’s continuing efforts to ensure that all sectors of society are represented and supported through responsive and inclusive public service.

In his message, Governor Aumentado thanked the Muslim community for its active cooperation in maintaining peace and order in the province.

He emphasized the importance of sustaining the culture of peace that has contributed to Bohol’s stability and development.

“I hope masustain nato ang kalinaw,” the governor said, highlighting the shared responsibility of government and communities in preserving peace and unity.

The governor also recognized the significant contributions of the Muslim community in promoting understanding, respect, and cooperation among Boholanos.

As the country’s first UNESCO Global Geopark, Bohol continues to uphold values of inclusivity, cultural appreciation, and sustainable development.

The province’s commitment to fostering harmonious relationships among its diverse communities remains an essential pillar of its growth and progress.

For his part, Bohol Muslim Community Peace Movement Inc. President Abdulsamad Pangompig said the organization’s primary mission is to support the implementation of peace and order initiatives throughout the province.

The installation of the new officers marks another chapter in the continuing partnership between the PGBh and the Muslim community.

Anchored on mutual respect and shared aspirations, the collaboration serves as a testament to the province’s enduring commitment to peace, unity, and inclusive development for all Boholanos, anchored on the Strategic Governance Roadmap. (PIMO/MAPI)
