The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), under Governor Aris Aumentado, through the Provincial Assessor’s Office (PAssO), reported major accomplishments in property valuation, digital records management, and revenue generation during the flag ceremony on May 25, 2026, at the New Provincial Capitol.
In his presentation, Provincial Assessor Rene Jayag emphasized the office’s role in supporting local revenue generation through accurate property identification, classification, valuation, and efficient management of assessment records across the province.
Following the enactment of Republic Act No. 12001, or the Real Property Valuation and Assessment Reform Act (RPVARA), PAssO intensified the preparation of the Schedule of Market Values (SMV) in coordination with municipal and city assessors.
The office conducted appraisal activities, market analysis, validation of real estate transactions, and property classification to ensure updated and accurate market values based on prevailing economic conditions and Philippine Valuation Standards.
PAssO also conducted mandatory public consultations and hearings on February 12–13, 2026, to strengthen transparency and stakeholder participation in the valuation process.
The proposed SMV was submitted to the Bureau of Local Government Finance Region VII on March 19, 2026, and is currently awaiting recommendations.
The office further strengthened digital governance through the Provincial Assessor’s Office Information System (PAssO-IS), described as the office’s “digital backbone” for faster and more organized transactions and records retrieval.
As of May 2026, PAssO successfully encoded 92,203 tax declarations and digitized 165,775 pages of records to improve efficiency and ease of doing business.
The office also issued 6,978 certifications, 75 encumbrances, and 60 annotations, while processing 9,686 tax declarations and maintaining assessment records for all 47 municipalities in Bohol.
PAssO likewise appraised, inspected, and drafted resolutions for 49 properties and issued three quarry certifications.
According to the Provincial Treasurer’s report, real property tax collections reached Php150,011,648.10 as of May 2026, contributing to the province’s revenue generation and development initiatives.
