Members of the Casilay United Farmers Association (CAUFA) expressed their gratitude as their newly acquired Mini Rice Mill Facility was inaugurated on May 8, 2026, in Barangay Magsaysay, Sierra Bullones, led by Gov. Erico Aristotle ‘Aris’ Aumentado.
The facility, worth ₱572,171, was funded by the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) through the Provincial Cooperative Development Office headed by Officer-in-Charge Ma. Conrada Fuentes.
Governor Aumentado congratulated the members and encouraged them to properly manage the project.
He emphasized that amid rising prices of goods, the PGBh continues to assist communities through associations and cooperatives so that people can directly feel government support.
The inauguration was attended by Michael Doria, Barangay Casilay Captain Edgar Balaba, Barangay Magsaysay Captain Eric Visto, and PCDO OIC Ma. Conrada Fuentes and staff, MCDO Ane Ybanez, and other officials.
CAUFA President Rito Ipanag, together with the association’s 21 members, expressed appreciation for the livelihood grant approved by Governor Aumentado, noting that it was the first government assistance received by the association in its 12 years of operation.
He also encouraged members to strengthen unity and cooperation to gain more support from PGBh.
Community Empowerment Development Officer Riche Datahan also thanked the members for working together to improve the association and for successfully presenting the project to supporting agencies.
The rice mill is in Barangay Magsaysay, donated by one of the members. It will mill palay at a rate of ₱2.50 per kilo.
Governor Aumentado commended the association’s unity and assured them of continued support if the project is properly managed.
The initiative supports the PGBh’s Strategic Governance Roadmap, which aims to strengthen food security, support farmers, and provide sustainable livelihood opportunities in Bohol Island UNESCO Global Geopark, the country’s first and only UNESCO Global Geopark. (PIMO/ALT/JSS)
