The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), led by Governor Aris Aumentado, through the Provincial Information and Media Office (PIMO), continues to strengthen its communication initiatives to ensure that accurate, timely, and relevant information reaches communities across the province.
This was highlighted by the Provincial Information and Media Office (PIMO) during the flag ceremony held on May 4, 2026, at the New Provincial Capitol.
The report, presented by Marc Anthony Pernia, Administrative Officer V, underscored PIMO’s continued commitment to delivering responsive and people-centered communication services in support of the Strategic Governance Roadmap of the Provincial Government under Governor Aris Aumentado.
PIMO emphasized its role as the information arm of the Capitol in promoting transparency, accountability, and public engagement through strengthened media production and digital expansion.
The Newsdesk and Research Section recorded strong output across platforms, producing 786 radio articles for broadcast, averaging three articles daily and achieving a 166.93 percent accomplishment rate.
For print media, 634 articles were submitted, with 408 published in the weekly Sunday newspaper, reflecting a 118.63 percent publication rate.
The section also generated 818 articles for media briefings and Sunday news, while distributing 20,698 copies of the Ang Kapitolyo Newsletter to widen provincial information dissemination.
Beyond regular production, the section supported major provincial events, including Sandugo 2025, the Governor’s State of the Province Address, the Year-End Report, and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Accomplishment Report through coverage, news writing, and print advertisements.
Capacity-building efforts were also strengthened through a Journalism Training attended by 26 participants from various Capitol offices, enhancing internal communication skills and coordination.
In addition, full radio monitoring coverage was maintained across 18 development radio programs throughout the year to ensure consistent tracking of public information dissemination.
PIMO also intensified its information campaign in support of the Bohol Island Geopark, producing video features, live coverages, and event documentation.
A dedicated Geopark Corner was likewise featured in the Ang Kapitolyo Newsletter to promote geoheritage awareness and geoeducation.
Meanwhile, the Production Section provided comprehensive multimedia support, including photo and video documentation, livestreaming, and technical services for provincial events.
In 2025, the team successfully aired 24 episodes of Takna sa Gobernador, 51 regular episodes of The Capitol Reports, and 65 special editions covering major government activities.
Despite logistical challenges, the section achieved a 90 percent accomplishment rate in documentation requests.
PIMO’s digital platforms also recorded significant growth, with 1,057 social media posts generating 685,399 interactions and reaching over 40.86 million views.
The official page, with more than 140,000 followers, remained a key platform for public information dissemination and citizen engagement.
Both the Newsdesk and Production Sections collaborated in producing Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, including the SP in Action video series, to support legislative transparency and public awareness.
On the administrative side, PIMO ensured smooth operations through efficient management of logistics, financial processes, documentation, and coordination of media-related services, including travel orders, payroll processing, and procurement.
Through its integrated communication efforts, PIMO continues to uphold its mandate of keeping the public informed while strengthening trust between the government and the people.
