The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), led by Gov. Aris Aumentado, proudly recognizes two exceptional young Boholano gymnasts who garnered a total of seven (7) medals in Artistic Gymnastics at the Palarong Panlungsod Kidapawan, held on February 7–8, 2026, at the Survive Marketing Warehouse, Brgy. Balindog, Kidapawan City, Cotabato.
The remarkable achievement highlights the growing excellence of Bohol’s youth in competitive sports and reflects the province’s commitment to nurturing athletic talent at an early age. This milestone was made possible through the Providing Assistance to Sports Activities (PASA) Program of the Provincial Youth Development Office (PYDO), which aims to strengthen grassroots sports development by expanding access to athletic opportunities, fostering partnerships, and supporting LGU-led and privately organized sports initiatives.
Vianney Ia Andreanne Lumangcas of Lomangog, Ubay showcased exceptional skill and determination, earning Gold medals in Balance Beam, Bars, and Vault, and a Silver medal in the Floor Exercise. Meanwhile, Iyah Kyla Felisilda of Cayacay, Alicia also delivered an outstanding performance, securing Gold medals in the Floor Exercise and Bars, and a Silver medal in the Balance Beam.
Their success underscores the dedication of young Bol-anon athletes and the vital role of continuous training, mentorship, and institutional support. The athletes were guided by Coach Alberto Gunday Jr., whose leadership and technical expertise contributed significantly to their competitive excellence.
In a Facebook post, Coach Gunday expressed pride in the team’s performance, stating, “A proud victory for Bohol Gymnastics as we rise stronger with 5 gold medals and 2 silver medals in Kidapawan City, Philippines, with over hundreds of participants. This achievement is a testament to hard work, perseverance, and teamwork.”
Their commendable performance brings honor to the Province of Bohol and serves as a strong inspiration to aspiring athletes, encouraging the youth to pursue excellence, discipline, and perseverance in sports.
Through sustained investments in youth empowerment and sports development envisioned in the Strategic Governance Roadmap, the Capitol remains committed to nurturing world-class talent and strengthening opportunities for young Bol-anons—advancing inclusive growth and human development across the province, a UNESCO Global Geopark.
