CAPITOL CELEBRATES NATIONAL BIBLE DAY
Jan 26, 2026

In celebration of the National Bible Day, the Province of Bohol continues to champion faith, unity, and moral grounding, underscoring the enduring relevance of God’s Word in guiding communities amid modern challenges.

The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) marked the National Bible Day through a meaningful breakfast fellowship held at the Ceremonial Hall of the New Capitol on January 26, gathering leaders and members of various Christian denominations in prayer, reflection, and fellowship.

Governor Aris Aumentado, in his opening remarks, emphasized the Bible’s role as a source of strength and guidance in uncertain times.

“As we gather for this breakfast fellowship, we are reminded that even in a world facing strong headwinds, the Bible remains a source of enlightenment, inspiration, and comfort. It continues to guide us in moments of doubt and strengthen us in times of trial,” the Governor said.

He added that God’s Word calls people to persevere with faith and hope.

“It teaches us to stand firm in faith and to walk with hope, despite the uncertainties around us. Through God’s Word, we are assured that we are never alone in our journey,” Gov. Aumentado stressed.

The gathering was joined by brothers and sisters of the faith, including church leaders, ministers, missionaries, as well as representatives from Bible-believing churches and Bible-believing associations, highlighting the spirit of unity across Christian communities in the province.

Also present during the activity were Board Member Mutya Tirol, Provincial Administrator Asteria Caberte, Provincial Legal Head Atty. Handel Lagunay, and other provincial department heads, reflecting the Capitol’s collective support for faith-based initiatives that promote moral values and social harmony.

The Assumpta Choir led the congregation in soulful hymns and songs of praise, enriching the program with uplifting music that set a reverent and reflective tone for the celebration.

In her closing remarks, Board Member Lucille Lagunay highlighted the power of shared faith in fostering unity.

“Your presence and partnership are a beautiful testimony that when we gather around God’s Word, we are not divided. We are drawn closer—not only to God, but also to one another,” she said.

She further reminded participants that Scripture calls believers “not only to listen, but to live with integrity, humility, and love without counting the cost,” noting that Boholanos embrace this calling in a special way.

The National Bible Day celebration reaffirmed the Capitol’s commitment to nurturing faith, values, and unity among its people, in line with the Capitol’s Strategic Change Agenda, particularly its thrust on Cultural Heritage, recognizing faith as a vital pillar of Boholano identity and community life across the province, a UNESCO Global Geopark.(PIMO/JFP)
