The Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution (OADR), an attached agency of the Dept. of Justice (DOJ), is conducting a nationwide “Basic Skills Training on ADR” intended for members of the Lupong Tagapamayapa (LT) under the Barangay Justice System. This is in pursuant to its mandate of institutionalizing the use of an alternative dispute resolution in the country. Said training is part of a yearly program of the OADR to capacitate the members of the LT of selected barangays in all regions through continuous skills training, including lectures and practical exercises on mediation and other related mechanisms of dispute resolution. Gov. Edgar M. Chatto suggested a trainors’ training first for Bohol. These trained professionals would then be deployed to the barangays for faster capacity building in the province.
