Gov. Edgar Chatto leads the opening of the new TARSIER 117 office at the governors’ sub office in Ubay.
“The heart to serve and the passion to help is the most important ingredient in public service” said Gov. Chatto of the role of the new TaRSIER117 team in Ubay.
The governor also shared the relative ease of emergency response during the 2013 earthquake because the province’s quick response team was in place.”There is no limit to and no measure of preparedness until something happens”, he added.
For his part, Provincial Administrator Ae Damalerio said the the opening of the TaRSIER117 office in Ubay fulfills the commitment to expand services of the province’s quick response team. The staff of 14 in Ubay have already been trained in various aspects of emergency management.
This year, Barangay Emergency Management Training was also conducted across barangays in the province so that everybody is made aware of the basic frameworks in emergency management.
Gov. Chatto also turned over megaphones to barangays in Ubay and tested the soft launch of the PDRRM Communications IP Phone Integration. The system puts in place phones in each LGU for emergency linkage to all towns and targets to put the same in government hospitals as well.
Also with Chatto were Ubay Mayor Gale Atup Del Valle Hospital chief Dr. Mutya Kismet Tirol-Macuno, Talibon Mayor Toting Auxtero, Alicia Mayor Marnilou Ayuban and Ubay OIC Vice Mayor Clarita Alesna who represented Vice Mayor Nelson Uy.
