• Makes up his mind when there is an option of choice.
As Communicator
• Gives and receives information, ideas, and feelings with accuracy and understanding
As Facilitator
• Fosters collective effort
• Helps others solve problems
• Ensure that committee meetings are productive, and manages interpersonal and inter-group
conflict
As Enabler
• Makes things possible, practical and easier for other who are not quite prepared to do
things for themselves
As Negotiator
• Helps other reach as agreeable solution when they have differing interests and needs
As Financier
• Makes decision about raising,
allocating, and expending public funds
As Overseer
• Ensures that the council/board and staff are doing the right things and doing those thing
right through such activities as monitoring and evaluating policies, programs and services
As Power Broker
• Uses his own personal resources of power, as well as official position power, to get things
done
As Institution Builder
• Supports the development of staff personnel and the local government organization as important
responsibilities of local elected leadership
As Leader
• Exercises all the roles as his command to help bring about positive and significant changes
in the lives of constituencies and community.
