MUNICIPALITY OF ALBURQUERQUE

Twelve kilometers of well-paved road towards the east from the City of Tagbilaran lies the coastal town of Alburquerque.
Originally a part of Baclayon this municipality was once called Segunto. When Segunto became a municipality its name waschanged to Alburquerque after an ancient town in Mexico.the town’s short name is “Albur”. Alburquerque is reputed to have one of the longest (23 feet or 7 meters as of 2005)and heaviest (300 kg or 660 lbs) python in captivity. Today the people are engaged in pottery, weaving, fishing and farming.
